How to upgrade to new Yahoo ! Mail Beta

April 25th, 2006 | Categories: Default | Tags:

Some one told me a way on how to upgrade current Yahoo! Mail account to the new Ajax based interface. Here are the steps :

  • Log in to Yahoo Mail
  • Click Options
  • select Account information from the left panel
  • go to Member Information, General Preferences, Preferred Content
  • select, for example, Yahoo UK
  • click Finished
  • go to Yahoo Mail
  • you’ll see a page that says “It’s the New Yahoo! Mail Beta… and you’re invited.
  • click on “Try Beta Now”.

Note that these steps worked for me, but I am not sure if these will work for you also.

So what am I doing wrong? I can get past the first 4 steps but when I get to “member information” and select “change language and content settings” I’m only given US options (english, spanish or chinese). I even tried changing the time zone stting to Greenwich first but I still got the same options.

    Any ideas?

Dollfan, I think you should move try to access this page from some other ISP or via any proxy, i think that if you are in the US, Yahoo! might not show you these pages.

i have had my yahoo address since i was in mid to early 90’s and i decided to go with this beta thing today and well i am able to only see that i have messages and when i go to switch back it tells me that there is an error and i now have to change the e-mail address that i have had for years and that is the only way alot of my old friends have to get ahold of me so that is just the icing on the cake for me today
