Learning from mistakes
I have been always intrested in gaming consoles such as PlayStation, XBox and Nintendo’s. The internal details are the most imporant that I enjoy reading. And to add further to my joy, i came across this great article on ReedElectronics. Quote :
Those goals fit well with the choice of IBM and ATI for the two pieces of silicon that would account for more than half the cost of the box. Each chip supplier moved forward, based on a “statement of work, ” but Gibson kept his options open, and it would be months before the team finalized a contract. Both IBM and ATI could pull blocks of IP from their existing products and reuse them in the Microsoft chips. Engineering teams from both companies began working on joint projects such as the data pathway that connected the chips. ATI had to make contingency plans, in case Microsoft chose Intel over IBM, and IBM also had to consider the possibility that Microsoft might choose Nvidia.
Intresting read.
Unlucky XBox360 user
You have heard that Lighting doest strike the same place twice, but for this poor man, it had struck 4 times!. This poor guy had 360, which was replaced by another 360, then another 360 and then another 360. 4 times he had problems with XBox.

What is RSI ?
I am a regular reader of GoogleBlog, many thanks to Bloglines that i can use it to keep the track of many and many blogs and if you want to know what I read, you should read my Public profile here, huge list isnt it ?.
Now to the point, today I read about RSI on GoogleBlog, man i am afraid. :s. Wikipedia defines RSI as
Repetitive strain injury, also called repetitive stress injury or typing injury, is an occupational overuse syndrome affecting muscles, tendons and nerves in the arms and upper back. It occurs when muscles in these areas are kept tense for very long periods of time, due to poor posture and/or repetitive motions.
It is most common among assembly line and computer workers. Good posture and ergonomic working conditions can help prevent or halt the progress of the disorder; stretches, strengthening exercises, massages and biofeedback training to reduce neck and shoulder muscle tension can help heal existing disorders.
and University of Nebraska, Lincon mentions RSI as
Repetitive Strain Injuries occur from repeated physical movements doing damage to tendons, nerves, muscles, and other soft body tissues. Occupations ranging from meatpackers to musicians have characteristic RSIs that can result from the typical tasks they perform. The rise of computer use and flat, light-touch keyboards that permit high speed typing have resulted in an epidemic of injuries of the hands, arms, and shoulders. Use of pointing devices like mice and trackballs are as much a cause, if not more so. The thousands of repeated keystrokes and long periods of clutching and dragging with mice slowly accumulates damage to the body : another name for the condition is Cumulative Trauma Disorder. This can happen even more quickly as a result of typing technique and body positions that place unnecessary stress on the tendons and nerves in the hand, wrist, arms, and even the shoulders and neck. Lack of adequate rest and breaks and using excessive force almost guarantee trouble.

More on Cricket World Cup 2011
As mentioned previously here, The News has posted some intresting information as:
“It was a case of Pakistan and India telling the West Indies ‘you support us and we will help you revive cricket in the West Indies’,” the source said. He said later associate members like Malaysia, the UAE and Israel had also then voted in favour of the four Asian countries to host the World Cup which made up the final 10 to three vote count.
So, Pakistan and India told West Indies, You help us, we will help you. Great work done by PCB and BCCI, atleast we will can watch another World Cup in Pakistan.
